The European Standards for Health Interoperability Alliance (ESHIA) founded as a legal entity for the xShare European EHRxF Standards and Policy Hub

The European EHRxF Standards and Policy Hub is a key xShare initiative to support the use of health data within the EHDS, with the ambition to make it sustainable by design. Just in time before the mid-point of the project, xShare has initiated the formation of a new legal entity to carry the Hub forwardin March 2025, the first general assembly was held to found the new European Standards for Health Interoperability Alliance (ESHIA) as a nonprofit association under Belgian law, with the mission to support the deployment of the EHDS by operating the standards hub for interoperability specifications, and by advancing awareness and global alignment of the European EHR Exchange Format (EHRxF).  Seventeen consortium partners are collaborating as founding members to build ESHIA’s governance and procedures, and a business plan and conditions for new members and partners to join.
